Once your Mama Money order has been paid for. You and your recipient will receive an SMS with a reference number.Your recipient will require identification and will need to present this reference number at the cash collection location to receive their money.

You can choose to pay for your Mama Money order with cash or via online banking with EFT.You can pay with cash at any of our retail partners such as Pick n Pay, PEP, Spar, Makro, Game, Flash shops, Kazang merchants and many more.Once your order has been created you will receive a reference number in an SMS from Mama Money. Present this reference number to our retailer partners and pay the exact amount of cash to complete your order.

Transfers to mobile wallets and cash collection are sent within minutes. Transfers to bank accounts, on average, take 5 hours to be received but can take up to 48 hours to reflect, depending on the recipient’s institution.

Mama’s fee is 5% or less for sending money to Malawi. It depends on how much you send. a) If you send R500 the fee will be R24 b) If you send R1000 the fee will be R48 c) If you R5,000 the fee will be R239
